The subseries contains orders (Turkish: buyrultu) of the governors of the Bosnian Eyalet and Herzegovinian sancakbeys, which were issued in the period from the middle of the 17th to the beginning of the 19th century. The orders deal with many issues and problems, from politics and trade to robberies, that were happening on the Ottoman-Dubrovnik border.


There is only one buyrultu in which Jews are mentioned. Referring to trade rights from an existing treaty between the Ottomans and the Republic, Dubrovnik authorities complained in 1807 to the governor of the Bosnian Eyalet and the Herzegovinian Sancakbey, Husrev Mehmed Pasha, stating that Jewish merchants in Sarajevo were interfering with the business of Dubrovnik merchants. Pasha issued an order to the kadi of Sarajevo to prevent such actions (no. 321).

The series consists of two so-called special registers of the Chancellery of the island of Lopud from the middle of the 17th century. The first volume contains various documents, such as promissory notes (aptai) and documents on sequestrations. The second volume contains marriage licenses issued by the Catholic parish priest on the island of Lopud.

Registra particularia Cancellariae (Special registers of the Chancellery of the Autonomous Commune on the island of Lastovo)

There are no references to Jewish people in the series.
The series contains so-called “special” registers of the Chancellery of the Autonomous Commune of Lastovo from the middle of the 17th century to the beginning of the 19th century. Some documents in these registers are, for example, on election of various administrative officials and some contain the texts of the decrees of the Rector of Lastovo which were publicly proclaimed.

The series consists of various lawsuits registered at the Chancellery of the captaincy in Trstenica from the mid-17th century and in the 70s of the 18th centuries. The documents in the series are primarily lawsuits, written statements and testimonies, sales agreements, documents on sequestrations, as well as registrations of official letters, contracts and official documents issued by the authorities in Dubrovnik, etc.

The series contains the drafts of letters and instructions of the authorities of the Republic to Dubrovnik emissaries, tribute ambassadors, consuls, administrators of Dubrovnik consulates, chargé d'affaires, or merchants in the cities of the Ottoman Empire. The preserved registers date from the middle of the 17th century to the 60s of the 18th century.

All the series of the fonds Apolitiae have not been fully researched and it is very difficult to establish the connection between them. The only possible connection found so far is to the documents of the Apolitiae series (HR-DADU-45.1). For each entry in the Apolitiae series a certain number is recorded indicating the existence of a more detailed description of the type of compensation made to state employees of the Dubrovnik Republic at the end of the 17th century, and in certain periods of the 18th century.
